"Chuck Swindol would come over the airwaves in 1979 in Wichita, Kansas. His strong yet gentle voice spoke peace, inspiration and clear direction as he opened the scriptures and dissected each word, phrase and verse of God's Word. With each portion he would fill it with examples, illustrations, personal application and I would eat it up. Filling my drained spirit and soul from another 10 hour day of dealing with hundreds of customers in Towne East Mall. The Bible Is my daily bread but Chuck (I call him Chuck because Ive spent 30 years with him but actually never have met him) made Chuck covered it with sweet honey and it made it easier to swallow! I'm 47 and I drive from Eastland, Tx back home to Lake Brownwood after a long day of working in the health field. The hour drive is my time with God. I drive and Chuck reads the Word and fills my empty soul that has been drained from the day's duties of marketing home health and lifting and encouraging patients in hospitals and nursing homes. Chuck makes me laugh, cry and sometimes I shout an "Amen" or "Excellent" or "Good Thought Chuck" out loud like he is waiting for my response. Yes people stare as I smile and nod at my radio. If I really like the topic of the day, I drive 60 just to get it all. All the other radio guys well it's 75mph! Chuck makes me slow down. Even pulled over a couple times to write down some references and quotes. We have a local highway patrol man who has pulled me over before. His name- "Les Grace". Each day I pray for "more grace" cause if you end up with Les Grace it will cost you! Thank you Chuck for your love for God, your love of the Bible and sharing your beautiful gift of teaching for all these years. My favorite hymn "I Love to Tell the Story". Thank you for telling us the story! I may never meet you here on earth but may I sit with you in heaven? There is so much more I would like to share with you. I hope God speaks with the audible voice of Chuck Swindoll. Forever is a long time and your voice has kept my attention for 30 years, I truly could listen to you forever! What a gift! "Thank you for the radiobroadcast each morning.I only just discovered the radio station.I thought the broadcast was heard in Victoria alone.This was a misconception!
I set my alarm each morning and am ready with my Bible and notepad.There are REAL nuggets of truth in the teaching-so balanced,relevant and brings nourishment to the soul.
I work as a medical doctor and love the systematic teaching of the Word.I have been recently blessed by the segment on caring for those with special needs.I have a son now 24 years old that was diagnosed with Aspergers syndrome (high functioning Autism).He was misdiagnosed early on and mismanaged medically.There were years of challenging behaviour issues and I blamed myself for not raising him right,felt the rejection of teachers towards him and me including church goers that I needed to use the rod of correction more or that this was a spititual problem and he was demon possessed and needed deliverance.Thankfully,the Lord has His way in every situation and has the last laugh.I know that my son is created in the Image of God,where His strength is made perfect in weakness and the Lord will show himself strong on behalf of those that trust in Him.
My son underachieved in high school due to executive dysfuction.I knew he was bright in areas that interested him.His thinking is so black and white like most kids with Aspergers.He finished his HSC and got admission into Law at university.Please wait that is not all...He, afte 2 years applied to Oxford to pursue Law..sat for exams,passed and was interviewed for45 mins and got admission into Law at Oxford Uni ,UK.He graduated last year and was awarded the University prize in Jurisprudence!
The small classes, personalized teaching and peaceful surrounds have assisted in causing him to flourish.The Lord makes no mistakes and knows us even before we are born and places VALUE in each of us.We are ALL imperfect and Deficient till we put our hand in His-He loves to prepare a table in the presence of our enemies..To Him be all the honor and glory and praise!...."
